From Broadway to Vegas, the Journey of a Hit Show

As one of the nation’s top entertainment rich cities, Las Vegas has become a standard destination preference for many Broadway plays. It is interesting that the journey of a potential Broadway show takes an increasingly dynamic and complicated path that far exceeds the traditional journey up the Great White Way . Today, a show can originate at a regional theatre somewhere out in the great USA, and work its way into New York, typically Off-Broadway, before landing a coveted spot on one of the great Broadway stages. If a successful run is achieved, and usually this will apply to a musical, the producers will frequently want to plan an extended run, and possibly even permanent spot in Las Vegas.

Some of the greatest musicals to have hit the Broadway, or world’s, stage have productions housed in one of the Vegas venues. And the city’s great hotels and casino resorts are filled with people who are there simply to see a great show. The Lion King, Jersey Boys and Menopause the Musical are just a few of the shows that have found their way onto the Vegas arena. And as is typically expected Cirque du Soleil always has one or more shows onstage. And as the popularity of Vegas continues to grow, Broadway producers will continue the trend of considering potential Vegas runs when developing a show for the New York stage.

Check the Tire Tread

Driving a vehicle with a worn out tread is extremely hazardous. These tires have less traction and maneuverability, making them more prone to skidding and slipping. You are also much more likely to have a blowout which can result in a serious accident. It’s much better to just replace the tires as soon as the tread approaches the danger zone.

Will purchasing an elaborate security system, complete with twenty-four hour patrols and video monitoring make your family safe? How many safes does the average home need to secure all their valuables? What is the minimum amount of home security measures needed in order to protect your family?

These are the types of questions that plague many parents. They want to do whatever they can to protect their children and their belongings from thieves and other threats. Feeling safe is a basic human need and it is up to parents to do whatever they can to give their children that sense of security. It is an awesome responsibility.

What most parents quickly realize is that there aren’t any easy answers. Turning their home into a fortress may seem like the only option, but it’s probably an overreaction. Doing nothing is much too risky. Worst of all, the so called experts will have different opinions not just how how much security is enough security, but on how dangerous specific cities and towns actually are. Eventually, parents will have to decide for themselves how much security is necessary for their family’s needs.

At times it seems like the world is falling apart and becoming even more dangerous. This leaves a lot of people thinking that there’s nothing they can do but hunker down and hope for the best. Take Advantage of GUI Testing

At some point in the process of designing new applications such as games, financial software, or productivity suites the programmers have to be willing to say that the product is complete. The temptation is to continue fixing and fiddling with the software forever, but at some point is needs to be ready to sell or otherwise released to the public.

However, just because the programmers are done doesn’t mean it’s time to start selling the software. That would be a mistake. First the program needs to undergo extensive Graphical User Interface Testing or GUI testing. This will identify any problems with the program before it goes out into the world. This prevents the release of a bad program and circumvents the need for future patches to fix major errors.

GUI testing has been around for awhile. It tests every aspect of a program to make sure that it is operating within the products technical specifications. This can be a huge undertaking, as every possible combination of actions that might be taken by a future user must be examined. This is why most GUI testing is now automated. Specially designed programs simulate user behavior through every mathematically conceivable path of action. This generates a detailed list of any problems so that programmers can correct them before the software is released.
